The richest Greeks in the world for 2014

The list of Forbes Magazine for the welthiest people of the world counted 1,645 billionaires with an aggregate net worth of $6.4 trillion, up from $5.4 trillion a year ago. The list of 2014 includes 42 new women billionaires. In total, there are 172 women on the list, more than ever before and up from 138 last year.

12 Greeks managed to be incuded on this years list and a businessman from Cyprus.

Filaretos Kaltsidis: The richest Greek 

He remains the richest Greek yet another year, but from the rang 175 of the Forbes list of 2013 with total fortune at $ 6.7 billions, this year ge landed on place 234 with total fortune $ 6 billion.  He holds both Greek and Russian citizenships. Kaltsidis’s Eurocement Holding AG is Russia’s largest producer of cement, with annual production capacity of 38 MT, expected to raise up to 50 MT in the near future according to corporate plan.

On 446 place is Jim Davis. His fortune is estimated at $ 3,4 billion. His parents moved to USA when his was a little boy. He is the owner of «New Balance».

On 506 place, we find Spiros Latsis with his fortune estimated at $3.2 billion. He was born in Athens and he is the son of Giannis Latsis.

On 551 place we find John Paul DeJoria. His fortune is estimated at $3 billion. He was born to immigrant parents, a Greek mother and an Italian father. His main income source is John Paul Mitchell Systems, his hair products company. Actually, before building his business empire, he used to be a homeless guy living in his car.

On the same spot, 551 place, we find John Catsimatides. His fortune is estimated at $3 billion.

On 687 place of the list, we find Aristotelis Mistakides. His fortune is estimated at $2.5 billion.

Aristotelis Mistakides shares the same rang with Filippos Niarchos. Mr Niarchos has in his art collection some of the most valuable paintings in the world.

On 731 place we find George Argyros. His fortune is estimated at $2,4 billion. He deals with real estate and investments and had served as U.S. ambassador to Spain.

Peter Peterson with 2,2 billion dollars is on 796 place. He’s a businessman, banker, author and politician and has prominently served as the United States Secretary of Commerce from February 29, 1972 to February 1, 1973 under President Nixon. Currently he’s considered to be the most influential persona in the country.

Michael Zacharis is in 828 place with 2,1 billion dollars. During the last years, he’s regularly included in Forbes’s Richest Men in the World lists. Jaharis is the founder of Kos Pharmaceuticals and Vatera Healthcare Partners and also co-founder of Arisaph Pharmaceuticals.

Dean Metropoulos on number 1284 and 1,3 billion dollars. He is the owner of Pabst Brewing, which produces more than 24 brands of beer and drinks. His family moved to USA when he was 9 years old.

On place 1465 we find Alexander Spanos with 1,1 billion dollars. He is the owner of San Diego Chargers.

Also, in the «Gold book» of Magazine Forbes we find the owner of EasyJet, Stelios Jatziioannou, who is on 520 with total fortune at 3.1 billion dollars.
