Ο ομογενής δικηγόρος που διαπρέπει στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες
Ο Γιάννης Λουίζος γεννήθηκε στις 7 Απριλίου του 1972 στην Αθήνα και μετανάστευσε στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες με τους γονείς του στην ηλικία των τριών ετών. Μεγάλωσε στο Stamford όπου ο πατέρας του εργαζόταν ως μηχανικός αυτοκινήτων και ήταν ο πρώτος στην οικογένειά του που κατάφερε να πάει στο πανεπιστήμιο. Έλαβε Bachelors of Arts από το University of New Hampshire το 1994 και το Juris Doctor του από το Washington & Lee University το 1997.
Ξεκίνησε την καριέρα του ως δικαστικός υπάλληλος στο Ανώτατο Δικαστήριο της Βιρτζίνιας και εργάστηκε εκεί από το 1997 έως το 1999. Κατά τη διάρκεια του πρώτου χρόνου εργασίας του εκεί (1997) δημοσίευσε το “Que, Ya No Hablan Ingles En Este Pais?: A Look at the Constitutionality of English Only Provisions Under the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment”. Επίσης το Φεβρουάριο του 2005 δημοσίευσε το «Striking Out Performance Enhancing Drugs – Is the Law Doing Enough to Protect the National Pastime from Becoming the Great American Tragedy?».
Ήταν μέλος (2006-2007) και αντιπρόεδρος (2008-2009) του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου Οικονομικών στο Stamford. Τώρα είναι μέλος του Fairfield County Bar Association, καθώς και μέλος του Connecticut and Virginia Bar Associations. Το 2010 , το 2011 και το 2012 ο Λουίζος επιλέχθηκε ως Connecticut Rising Star από το περιοδικό “SuperLawyer”, μια τιμή που προορίζεται για τους δικηγόρους οι οποίοι είτε είναι 40 ετών ή νεότεροι είτε εξασκούν το επάγγελμα του δικηγόρου για δέκα ή λιγότερα χρόνια.
Τώρα ο Λουίζος είναι συνεργάτης της Curtis, Brinckerhoff & Barrett, P.C. και ασχολείται με το εμπορικό δίκαιο, την πολιτική δικονομία και το συνταγματικό δίκαιο.
