The Great Britain hotel’s official magazine even hosted a tribute for Greeks distinguished and stand out in the world. Four distinguished scientists each from a different discipline. Periklis Papadopoulos, Professor of Aerospace Engineering and a NASA astrophysicist; Dr. Artemis Simopoulos, founder and President of the National Center for Genetics, Nutri- tion and Health, based in Wash- ington DC, and consultant on health and nutrition to the Special Assistant to the President on Consumer Affairs; Dr. Gregory Stephanopoulos, Professor at MIT and a pioneer of Metabolic Engineering and Biotechnology; and Dr. Hara Nikolakopoulou, a biologist-immunologist working in the UK, distin- guished for her research on skin and oral cancer – they constitute a group of Greeks that make us proud worldwide.

They were all speakers at the Conference co-hosted by ellines.com and the Region of Peloponnese, entitled “One Region, One Planet”.
