The “Kazantzakis” movie by Smaragdis in South Africa

Yiannis Smaragdis visited South African expatriates, showcasing excerpts from the highly anticipated film “Nikos Kazantzakis”.

The events were organized with the care of the Greek Embassy in Pretoria and the Johannesburg Annex Lyceum of Greek Women. The Greek director presented excerpts from his new creation, and talked about this film, which after El Greco and Varvakis (God Loves Caviar) continues the presentation of emblematic personalities of Greek history.

Among the many participants were George Bizos, the Cretan Brotherhood President Michalis Pavlakis, the businessman Yannis Makrides, the prominent Cretan Dimitris Koutakis, Giorgos Michalakis, the only Greek-born MP in the South African Parliament, Katerina Konstantinidou, representative of the South Africa Ambassador for Environmental Diplomacy and, of course, the Ambassador of Greece to Pretoria Eleftherios Kouvaritakis, the Consul General of Johannesburg Theodoros Michalopoulos, Mrs. Anna Synodinou with particular offer to Greek cultural events and Mrs Niki Souri, Chairman of the annex to the Lyceum of Greek Women in South Africa.
