Photographs for a better future of children

Born in Australia by Greek immigrants, he has as a base London and he has spent the last four years of his life in trying to raise public awareness for children suffering in the 21st century. The photographer Anastasakis Costas began his career in photography in «New World» before taking off for Europe and the USA, where he worked for the biggest magazines in the world.
The thing that captured him, however, is poverty and misery of millions of children worldwide and he is committed wholeheartedly in the struggle to become their lives somewhat better.
As he says, «we should not hope that there will be a miracle, someone will do something and he will solve the problems of tens of millions of children. We must each and every one of us to develop conscious awareness and to make our life’s attitude the extinction of hunger and misery. Everyone and all together we can create a better future for children».

Costas Anastasakis, is not only limited to mere words. The «World Children Fund», based in New York and focuses its work in providing education to non-privileged children in South Africa, organized a photography exhibition by Anastasakis at the Mandarin Hotel. The exhibition generated one and a half million dollars.

The prominent Greek photographer is planning a similar report for Ecolink, a charity organization in South Africa, which educates children to create while protecting the environment. Costa Anastasakis has traveled to the most vulnerable areas, in over 65 countries, and with his photos presents the face of children that the world community ignores or has forgotten.
