Vassiliki Karagiorgos –best known as Vassy- is a singer and songwriter, who gained major popularity in 2003 after winning Australian radio station Triple J’s Unearthed talent contest. She has lent her exotic voice sounds to popular commercials and television series, like Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty and Human Target.

Vassy was born in Darwin of Australia to Greek immigrant parents with origins from Grevena and Kozani. Since her early age, she loved singing, but she was expelled from the school choir.

She studied Interior Design at Sydney to please her father and she later pursued her singing career. Following her success in the radio station contest, she signed with Warner Brothers. She later moved to sign with Ultra Records in 2008 and decided to relocate to the United States.

Vassy Karagiorgos is the first Greek Australian to climb to the top of the US Billboard Dance Charts with her song We Are Young.

She has collaborated with Rihanna, Afrojack, Dave Aude and Richard Vission and has also written music for several popular television series, like Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty and Human Target. She has lent her voice to prestigious brands television commercial, like Victoria’s Secret and many more.

A white line across her face is her trademark and still a mystery of its meaning.

Vassy Karagiorgos has also made major charitable contributions leading the Anti Bullying campaign and also by supporting the GREEN IT organization and the Studio Samuel Foundation.
