Ariana Savalas is a jazz vocalist, songwriter and actress. She’s the daughter of famous and awarded actor Telly Savalas and Julie Savalas. Her father’s origins are from Gerakas of Lakonia.

Like her brother Christos, Ariana was baptized Christian Orthodox at the St. Sophia Church. She was at the early age of 7, when her father, famous for his role as Kojak, passed away.

“At home, my father used to speak to us in English, but my mother learned fluent Greek thanks to her love for him”, she has stated in a former interview.

In her teens, Savalas toured Europe as a pop singer, while studying for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. After returning to the United States, she started starring in television series and feature films. She has appeared in the popular series Criminal Minds.

“The current situation in Greece makes me sad. I feel like a friend or relative is suffering. When a loved one suffers, everyone close to you suffers.”

In 2010, Ariana Savalas appeared in the Greek television show X Factor, not to claim an award, but to get familiar with the members of the judging committee. Besides, she was already recording for her first album in the United States at that time.

In 2012, Ariana’s Perfect Man was released and was a huge success. Actually, Grey’s Anatomy’s Eric Dane starred in the Perfect Man’s official video.

Ariana Savalas has performed at Herb Alpert’s Vibrato in Beverly Hills, at the Friar’s Club, the Birdland Jazz Club, the Metropolitan Room and Waldorf Astoria in New York and at the Frank Sinatra Celebrity International in Palm Springs.
