Reigns on international catwalks
Her pret-a-porter collections were shown at the London Fashion Week, she was awarded a Newgen sponsorship for six seasons (spring/symmer 2009 to autumn/winter 2011) by the British Fashion Council, while her third cooperation with Topshop means that her collections are available at over 300 shops in Britain and in more than 100 countries around the world. She recently designed a series of bags for Longchamp, which were inspired by the East, yet intricatelly adapted for the West.
Also known as the Queen of Prints, she has earned the respect of the whole fashion industry with her talent. Aged only 29, Mary Katrantzou has managed to draw the attention of fashion journalists and her designs have been mentioned in editorials of fashion magazines, such as Vogue. Several famous ladies, including Keira Knightley, have chosen her clothes for their red carpet appearances.
Born in Athens in 1983, Mary Katrantzou studied Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design, in the US, and then moved to London to continue her studies at Central Saints Martins College. For around two years, she worked with Sophia Kokosalaki, but soon decided to leave her very own footprint in the fashion world. In 2008, her first pret-a-porter collection was presented at the London Fashion Week.
