Tasos Chonias was involved in painting from a very young age, making murals in commercial spaces. Later he worked on theatre sets at the National Opera House with stage designer Stefanos Lazaridis and in various theatre productions as well as giant posters in cinema.
In 2005 he started working with oils on canvas, since then he has had three solo exhibitions and many group exhibitions in Greece and abroad on the subject of room interiors from his studios in Athens and most recently a series of cars in pop and urban composition.
His works have been auctioned at major auction houses such as Bonhams in London, he has been awarded by Saatchi Gallery in a related competition with 5777 entries from artists from all over the world with the 2nd prize, the award was given at Art Paris 2011 at the Grand Palais in Paris, he also collaborates with well known galleries in London, New York , Paris , Cyprus and elsewhere.
Painting interiors
Having worked with the Lyric Stage, TV channels and film productions since the age of 15, in 2006, Tasos Honias held his first solo exhibition at the famous “Agathi” gallery in Athens. Since then he has been exclusively engaged in painting, having participated in important group exhibitions and his works are included in many collections in Greece and abroad.
