The Greek researcher behind virtual reality breakthrough that allows to ‘walk’ through cancer cells. UNSW researchers are revolutionising medical research by creating virtual reality technology that allows scientists to walk around the landscape of human cells. Ground-breaking virtual reality technology is allowing multiple scientists to see inside a human cell at the same time, giving researchers a three-dimensional tool to improve doctor interaction and help analyse how cancer drugs work. A team of researchers with IBM, among them the Greek researcher, has applied artificial intelligence to predict organic chemical reactions. In their paper uploaded to the preprint server arXiv, the group outlines their approach, which they describe as an improvement over other models. Read more…

4.Argyris Tzouvelekis

Thyroid hormone therapy significantly resolves fibrosis, or scarring, in the lungs of mice, increasing their survival from disease, a Yale-led study shows led by the Greek researcher. This provides a novel insight into the development of pulmonary fibrosis and could lead to alternative treatment for this serious condition, according to the researchers. Read more…
