Charalampos Pitsalidis is a Research Associate at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Cambridge.
From August 2016 to September 2017 he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Bioelectronics (BEL) at the Centre Microélectronique de Provence of the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne. His research focused on the development and characterization of conducting polymer scaffolds for in vitro toxicology studies.
He has also been a postdoctoral researcher at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2014-2015) and at Institut Frensel (2015-2016).
He received his B.Sc. in Physics from University of Crete (Greece) and his M.Sc. in Nanosciences & Nanotechnologies from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). During his M.Sc. studies, he joined the Lab for Thin Films – Nanobiomaterials – Nanosystems & Nanometrology (LTFN) and he worked in thin film vacuum processing and X-Rays characterization.
In 2013 he earned his Ph.D in Physics (Heracleitus II fellowship, NSRF) at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, where he focused on the fabrication of solution-processed organic field-effect transistors.
During his postdoctoral research, he worked in the field of organic light emitting diodes for wearable lighting applications and laser patterning for the fabrication of flexible electronic devices.
