Head of Department of Construction and Surveying at Kingston University

Dr. Tina Papadopoulou is the Head of the Department of Construction and Surveying, in the School of Natural and Built Environments at Kingston University.

Papadopoulou studied Mechanical Engineering at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece and she received her PhD in Engineering Management by Brunel University.

In September of 2015, Dr. Papadopoulou became the Head of the Department of Construction and Surveying, in the School of Natural and Built Environments at Kingston University. She is also an Associate Professor in the university, teaching a range of topics including Project Management and Procurement. She oversees the development of the curriculum and delivery of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses within these fields.

The Greek professor leads several project management related modules including procurement, contract administration and consultancy and further contributes to the teaching of research based modules.

She has several years construction management experience in the education sector. In 2006 she became an associate member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), in 2008 an associate member of the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and an incorporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and in 2010 a member of the Association for Project Management (APM).

She undertook research in engineering and construction management and has a good track record of publications in reputable international refereed journals and international conferences. Among her publications are: “Evaluation of dispatching rules for cellular manufacturing”, “Leanness: experiences from the journey to date” and in 2013 she received the 2013 Highly Commended Award at the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2013 for the publication: “Causes of cost overruns in transport infrastructure projects in Asia: Their significance and relationship with project size”.
