The Greek Startup that Innovates in Green Hydrogen Production

At a time when sustainable development and the transition to clean energy are a priority, Greek startup B-Hydrogen is emerging as a pioneer in green hydrogen production. With an innovative approach that combines renewable energy sources, the company aims to make a decisive contribution to reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable development.

The innovation that impressed

B-Hydrogen specialises in the production of green hydrogen through an innovative process that combines the use of floating photovoltaic panels strategically placed on the surfaces of reservoir dams. This method allows the use of excess hydropower in combination with solar energy, leading to an efficient and environmentally friendly production of hydrogen. The green hydrogen produced can be used in a variety of applications, from zero-emission vehicle propulsion to providing clean fuels for industry and housing.

The team behind the success

The founder and CEO of B-Hydrogen is civil engineer Melise Malko. The team was officially launched in December 2022 and currently consists of seven members and is constantly looking for new partners with a passion for green hydrogen and sustainable development.

Awards and recognition

B-Hydrogen has participated in numerous entrepreneurship programs and green energy competitions. In June 2023, the team received the 1st honorable mention in the “GreenTech” category from the Duth Innovation Hub of the Democritus University of Xanthi, Duth Innovation Hub. In December 2023, Melis Malko was awarded the “Best Mentor Award” in the framework of the national green innovation program “GreenTech Challenge”.

The future of B-Hydrogen

B-Hydrogen aims to secure funding to pilot its technology, with the ultimate goal of applying it to dams in Greece and internationally. The company aspires to establish itself in Greece and expand in Europe, contributing to the European Green Deal and promoting green hydrogen as the fuel of the future.
