Three awards for the “Dr IV” team of the Athens University of Economics and Business
The Greek team “Dr.IV” won three awards from the Department of Management Science and Technology (TIF) of the Athens University of Economics and Business in the 17th Pan-European Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition “JA Europe Enterprise Challenge 2020”, which was hosted for the first time in Greece by the Junior Achievement Greece.
The Greek team enthused the jury of the multinational technology company AVANADE and won the Avanade Digital Innovation Award 2020.
The award was presented to Dr.IV, a smart hospital management and monitoring system. With the use of Internet of Things technology, “Dr.IV” immediately alerts nursing staff on their phones when errors occur, so that the damage is repaired immediately and a dangerous complication is avoided.
“Dr. IV is to provide a system that helps time management units that lack staff (mainly nurses), who fight for our health on a daily basis, especially during the Covid-19 period, and significantly reduces the complications that result from serious errors.” Christiana Georgouli explains on the radio station of the “Athenian / Macedonian News Agency 104.9 FM “, who together with her classmates Ioannis Vougias and Antonis Faros designed the application with the undivided help and support of the responsible professors George Doukidis and Stavros Lounis.
In fact, Christianna Georgouli and Antonis Faros won the “JA Europe Alumni Leadership Award 2020” of the competition.
“We never imagined that an idea that started through a university course would go so far as to represent our country and our university in a pan-European competition of this scope,” explains the young student, thanking Junior Achievement Greece for giving them the opportunity. to present their Start-Up idea but also to take their next steps.
