The restoration of the Plaka Bridge will be completed in the summer

The aim of restoring the Plaka Bridge in Epirus was reaffirmed at the meeting of the Monitoring Committee for the restoration of the historic bridge. The Commission has examined the progress of the restoration work.

As announced, the architect of the restoration project, which will be approved by the Central Council of Modern Monuments, will be delivered to the Ministry of Culture in the first half of January.

It was also emphasized that the work of fixing and strengthening the western midleaf and the western podium of the bridge in the months of September and October was carried out in an excellent way by the Region of Epirus.

“Adherence to timetables for approval of studies and award procedures is a crucial issue. I am optimistic that the timetable will be met and in the summer of 2018 we will see the bridge be set again above Arachthos. All members of the Monitoring Committee will work towards this direction” the mayor of Tzoumerka, John Sedeles said.
