European distinction for 3 Greek researchers in respiratory medicine

The European Respiratory Society announced 8 researchers that have been awarded with the ERS/EU RESPIRE2 Post-doctoral Research Fellowship. Among the 3 Greek researchers. By awarding talented scientists, ERS aims to boost the existing European network of researchers, enhancing exchange of knowledge and strengthening collaborations. The awarded fellows, selected through a high standard, competitive evaluation process, are listed below in alphabetical order. They have started their 2-year fellowship research project during Spring 2016.

1.Dr. Andrianopoulos Vasileios with the research project “Carbon dioxide partial pressure oscillations during exercise: relation to cerebral blood flow regulation and to the prevalence of cognitive dysfunction in COPD”.

2.Dr. Letsiou Eleftheria with the research project “Targeting C5a in severe pneumococcal pneumonia: A role for neutrophil extracellular traps and microparticles to mediate sepsis and organ failure”

3.Dr. Tzouvelekis Argyrios with the research project “The role of phosphatases as antifibrotic regulators of fibroblast homeostasis in pulmonary fibrosis”.
