Dow Chemical Company was founded in 1897 and headquartered in Midland, Michigan. It is a global technology company focused on developing innovative solutions at the intersections of the physical, materials, polymer and biological sciences with 2014 annual sales of more than $58 billion. The company has more than 5,000 products that are manufactured at 197 sites in 36 countries across the globe. Its President, Chairman and chief executive officer is Andrew Liveris.
Liveris has been a member of Dow’s board of directors since February 2004, CEO since November 2004 and was elected as chairman of the board effective 1 April 2006. Liveris succeeded William S. Stavropoulos as CEO in 2004, after holding the position of chief operating officer.
