George Miller, the famous director’s contribution has been recognised at this year’s Environmental Media Awards. Held at Warner Bros Studios on October 24, the Mad Max director was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who appears in Fury Road.
The EMA awards recognise celebrities who are environmentally conscious and devoted to eco-friendly living.
George Miller has included a strong sense of eco-concerns in many of his films. For instance, his iconic Mad Max series, which got its start with 1979s “Mad Max”, starring a young Mel Gibson, tells the story of a post-apocalyptic world where oil is king.
The director made reference to his Greek upbringing on a farm as an influential factor as to why he is so conscious of the environment and caring for the planet.
Miller joins previous honorees Don Henley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristin Davis, Van Jones, and Zem and James Joaquin.
