Iannis Smaragdis new film for Nikos Kazantzakis
Iannis Smaragdis after the films Kavafis, El Greco and God loves caviar announced his new film Nikos Kazantzakis.
The screenplay is based on the spiritual autobiography of the great Greek and simultaneously universal writer Nikos Kazantzakis, Report to Greco.
It’s a turbulent search of the author, through dreams and journeys to places he loved, claiming experientially to understand Christ, Buddha, Lenin, in order to come, through his Odysseass, to the «Cretan Glance» which led to the abolition of the fear of death and the conquest of a higher freedom.
«In today’s Europe where there are tensions and differences, art must play its role, which is to unite people and give them strength. We, the people of cinema, prove it in practice. Four different countries in Europe Greece, France, Germany and Austria join forces to create a film about the Cretan Greek, the European and universal writer Nikos Kazantzakis!» Iannis Smaragdis said.
The filming is scheduled to begin in April 2016 in Greece, Crete, Athens, Aegina, France (Paris and Antipolis), Austria (Vienna), Germany (Berlin) and in China.
The actors who will participate in the film is Odysseus Papaspiliopoulos as the New Kazantzakis, Marina Kalogerou as Eleni Kazantzakis, Theodore Atheridis as George Zorbas, Zeta Duka as Melina Mercouri and Stathis Psaltis in the role of a monk.

Το εργο αυτο με κουρασε υπερβολικα οχι μονο εμενα αλλα και την παρεα μου ,απο την ροη του εργου και τους ρηχους διαλογους στην αρχη ,μεταξυ Καζαντακη και Σικελιανο.
Πολλες αντιφατικες εικονες με την πραγματικοτητα.Στους πολιτικα διανοουμενους ελληνες δεν υπερισχυει το παθος για σεξ.Γενικα δεν μου άρεσε.
