Invisible Museum presents Artemis from the sea

The Invisible Museum, the new activity of the National Archaeological Museum that displays selected antiquities from the storerooms where they are stored, presents the «Artemis from the sea».

After the «ring of Theseus» and the «Egyptian cat», the Invisible Museum hosts the «Artemis from the sea.» This bronze statuette of Artemis dates to the late 4th century BC. It was recovered from the seabed off the coast of Mykonos in May 1959 and since then it was kept in the storerooms of the National Archaeological Museum.

Artemis” exhibit will remain in the room 34 until July 19, 2015.

On May 24 and June 7 (Sunday) and on 12 and 19 June (Friday) at 12:00, Museum archaeologists will welcome visitors at the exhibition and talk with them about the great finds, which are waiting patiently for their turn emerge from the safe obscurity to light.
