Greece hosts the European Athletics Teams Championship 1st League for the first time on the island of Crete at the Pankrition Stadium 20-21 June 2015.

The promotional clip gives an idea of what to expect from the Championships and shows the enthusiasm of the Greek organisers.The spot was created by the director of the popular tv series «The Island» Theodore Papadoulakis and Panagiotis Papoutsakis was the script writer.

Located on the beautiful island of Crete, Heraklion is the fourth biggest city in Greece and is known for being a top touristic destination.The Pankrition stadium located by the sea, hosted part of the football tournament during the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and is currently the home ground of Greek Superleague football team Ergotelis.

More than 600 athletes from 12 countries will be competing for points as the host nation Greece will face Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland and Turkey during the two-day event, where the top three finishing teams will earn a promotion to the following year’s Super League and the bottom three relegated to the Second League.
