Greek billionaire the next owner of a NY newspaper?
Rumors have it that a Greek billionaire is going to buy New York Daily News from its current owner, Mort Zuckerman. According to NY Magazine John Catsimatidis is among the 3 billionaires wanting to become the owners of the well known newspaper. The other potential buyers are Rupert Murdoch and James Dolan.
As the article states Catsimatidis after his lose at the Republican mayoral nomination, he will comfort himself with the purchase of a newspaper. Greek billionaire Catsimatidis is also rumored to be mulling purchasing the News after having lunch with Zuckerman last month. Catsimatidis seemed to vaguely tease that he’d «lose less money» if he left the paper alone, but cited a confidentiality agreement when asked to confirm he was one of the potential buyers.
