Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has officially announced and detailed its upcoming 10th Anniversary Blu-ray edition of Alexander Payne’s Academy Award-Winning Sideways. It was the first Oscar won by the Greek film maker. The release will be available for purchase on October 7th.

Sideways is a breathlessly funny comedy. Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church star as Miles and Jack, old college buddies who take a wine-tasting road trip through California’s famed central coast to celebrate Jack’s upcoming nuptials.

It was nominated for numerous awards in 2005, including seven Golden Globes, ending up winning two, Best Screenplay and Best Motion Picture Comedy or Musical. The film was also nominated for five Academy Awards, winning Best Adapted Screenplay for Payne’s writing of the script alongside Jim Taylor.

The special release will enclude full length audio commentary by Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church, 7 deleted scenes and behind the scenes featurette.
