Night tour to the stars by the National Observatory of Athens

On the occasion of the «Researcher’s Night 2014″, the National Observatory of Athens opens its doors to the public in a preliminary event on Saturday, September 6th 2014. Guests will have the opportunity to walk up the hill of the Nymphs, in Thisio, from where under the guidance of qualified personnel will observe the evening sky.
They will have the opportunity to identify the constellations that are visible in this period, and observe the moon and Saturn from the Telescope «Doris», which will be open especially for this night. In the surroundings of the observatory  there will be small telescopes available for the observers by the Greek Astronomical Union.
Outdoors guests will have the opportunity to admire the view of the Acropolis from a unique perspective, behind the observatory. At the same time there will be a tour about the history of the area.
