Greece at the list with the 10 best wine destinations
Wine Enthusiast Magazine published the list with the best wine destinations around the world to make the Top Ten for 2014. Greece and more specific the Greek Islands managed to be among the 10 best destinations.
It takes more than great wine to make a great wine destination, says Susan Kostrzewa, executive editor of Wine Enthusiast magazine. Travelers also want good food and enjoyable interactions with winemakers and locals: «It’s really about the tone and the vibe of the place.» The magazine has identified the most promising vintage destinations for 2014.
Though Greece has been making wine for millennia, the quality has come a long way in the past decade, as the magazine suggests and recommend visiting wineries on the islands of Santorini, Samos and Crete.
The list includes:
Umbria, Italy
Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California
Hill Country, Texas
Mendoza, Argentina
Sonoma, California
Baden, Germany
Barossa Valley, Australia
Walla Walla, Washisington
Languedoc, France
