The Greek behind the revolutionary changes in WiFi

Professor Stan (Efstratios) Skafidas, of the Greek homogeny, is hiding behind the revolution in wireless communications (Wi-Fi) at the University of Melbourne, according to “New Scientist”.

As published in the reputable scientific journal, the researchers of the Australian Institute «Bionic Vision Australia» are claiming the first creation of the bionic eye which can be implanted in human and they are reaching the final stage over the next three years.

The research team of the Institute, according to New World, includes homogeneity scientist, Professor of nanoelectronics, Dr Stan Skafidas, who heads the research Center NICTA at the University of Melbourne, which works directly with the institute «Bionic Vision Australia».

This innovative invention of Australian scientists consists of a camera mounted on glasses, which captures images. Then these images are converted into electrical signals which excite neurons in the retina.

The homogeneous scientist Dr Stan Skafidas and his team at the Research Centre NICTA, are developing the «magic» chip, a catalyst for the proper functioning of the bionic eye, for more than three years. The microchips will be implanted in the patient and it will convert images of a small camera into electrical signals which in turn stimulates neurons in the retina.

The success of research were welcomed by the federal government which gave only a few days ago a grant of 42 million Australian dollars (28.5 million euros), to accelerate research on the first bionic eye around the world.
