The milk “8 Women“, a rich, tasty and controlled production of authentic milk, is produced exclusively in the area of Ginekokastro in Kilkis by eight women in the village. Antigone, Despina, Erasmia, Koula, Crystallia, Lamprini, Sylvia and Christina decided to join forces, knowledge and their passion for good milk and create “Women Dairy-Producers Ginekokastro”.

They created a Private Capital Company with the criteria for joining the union to be strict enough to be able to offer the Greek family fresh milk only from the specific geographical area and with special qualitative characteristics. Then, having as a compass the way they care for their own people and their family tradition, they managed to produce a rich, delicious and controlled production of an authentic product, pure and fresh milk.

That is why the milk “8 Women“ is produced exclusively in the Kilkis area, in six specific farms, where the cows producing it are fed on the purest and most natural food and receive the care of the female farmers who have a family tradition in the profession. The quantity produced in the cow’s farms is specific and controlled, with the result being the quality to be controlled as well. It is milk that the women gave and still give to their children, made of mothers for mothers.

Six of them either come from the livestock industry – they have been active in milk production for years and are raising their own cows in the most natural way – and two come from other business sectors.

Antigone Koutroutsiou, Cowgrower

She loves to cook for anyone who visits her home, loves the village and the life in it, while her favorite part of the day is when she has a cup of coffee with a friend. She is married and is a mother of three children. She believes that good, quality milk is a way to take care of your own people, who always want to offer the best. She wants this milk to also offer to other mothers so that they can also take care of their own people.

Koula Iordanidou, Cowgrower

She studied economics in Russia and ended up dealing with dairy farming when she met her husband and decided to build a livestock unit together. She lives with him and their three sons and believes that quality milk is what every mother must offer to her child. Her favorite part of the day comes in the evening when the whole family gathers around the table – since Koula is the one who makes the most delicious milk-based recipes.

Sylvia Samolada, Cowgrower

She is driven, born a leader and the one who started the idea of creating the business. Having grown up with her grandmother and grandfather in Kilkis, she loved the place with passion and decided, after leaving for a while in Thessaloniki, to return and build her life there. She manages two livestock farms alone and wholeheartedly believes that women who are united can produce the best milk. She is married and mother of two boys and, when she finds some time, loves to spend it by decorating her house.

Lambrini Tzombanidou, Cowgrower

She likes to laugh and lately laughs a bit more often since she recently became a grandmother for the second time and this is one of the most beautiful experiences she has lived, as he says. To her grandchild, like her own children, she gives nothing less than the milk that the other women and herself produce. She even thinks that a component of good milk is the love and care she and her family are showing in their cows, Cleopatra, Valentina and the other “girls”, as she calls them.

Crystal Sarantis, Cowgrower

She studied hairdressing and worked in the profession for 4 years, but now, the only person’s hair she trims is her husband’s. For the last 37 years, she has been occupied with her husband and her three sons. She thinks milk is her job and only wants the best result. Besides, the reason why she decided to join the union is because she aims at producing a quality and fully tested milk. She loves summer and eating ice-cream with her husband and she always looks forward to the first summer days.

Christina Spyrou, Cowgrower

She is the “calm power”, she loves to care for the cows and the one who speaks with the most affection for them. It’s no coincidence that she puts music to them when she calls them close to her, while the food she gives them is fully organic, with a special emphasis on clover. Her love for the profession has been spread to her two daughters, who also want to take care of the family farm. She remains in love with her husband after 25 years and believes that the secret to keeping a relationship for so long is absolute honesty.

Despina Voudouri, Entrepreneur

Despina is the business mind behind the union. She believed in the strength of “Women Dairy-Producers Ginekokastro”, in their knowledge and their passion to produce united excellent milk. Also driven, she believes that female entrepreneurship in Greece needs boldness and perseverance. As a mother, she always wanted to look for the purest raw materials for her child. So, for her, it is very important that the milk “8 Women“ should have purity in its composition, respect for its standardization and, of course, to be very tasty. She also thinks that tasty milk is the one that will provide everyone that tastes it with a journey to their favorite flavors and smells from their childhood.

Erasmia Papadopoulou, Entrepreneur

With many years of experience in the dairy industry, Erasmia is the one who undertook the part of Marketing to “recommend” “8 Women” to new mothers and consumers in the most creative way. She believes that their milk is so rich and so delicious due to the contact of animals with nature and because it keeps almost all the ingredients it has and at the moment it is milked in its bottle. An important component of the great milk is, however, Erasmia and the other women as well. Their love for what everyone does in the union, as well as the values of authenticity, honesty and dedication that they bring to work. A mother herself, she would want her daughter to be, above all, strong and learn not to give up when hardships immerge.

The milk “8 Women” is available in refrigerators at selected supermarkets and small outlets, in one-liter transparent bottles, in two types, Whole 3.7% – 4% and Low Fat 1.5%.

Answering for the first thoughts about the idea of the business, they say the first thing they thought about the union was that they could make quality milk, a full, tested and quality milk. Despite the fact that they struggle day and night because milk is not an easy job and needs a lot of work, they thought it would be for a good purpose and that women are tough from their nature, they stand and can do whatever they put their minds to. They decided that they would go ahead and stay optimistic.

With the “8 Women” milk, the livestock tradition of Kilkis demands its position on the market, showing that where there is the inspiration and willingness to work, new ways of creation are opened.
