Andreas Persidis holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Strathclyde, UK.
In the 25 years since graduating, Dr. Persidis has established and led technology development departments in European companies in the fields of engineering, software development and mobile telephony.
He is a member of the European Innovation Council, a member of the H2020 Expert Advisory Group on Innovation for SMEs, an expert reviewer and evaluator for the European Commission and the Austrian government, has managed a roadmap study on systematic innovation for the European Commission and has advised the Greek government on innovation strategy and research priorities in the fields of IT and life sciences.
Prior to Biovista, Andreas managed technology development teams in European companies in the engineering, software and telecommunications sectors. He has conducted research in the areas of machine learning and applied artificial intelligence, which led to the initiation of international research projects.
He has published extensively in international journals, co-authored book chapters on systematic drug repositioning and is a guest speaker at forums on drug repositioning, innovation and export-oriented high-tech companies. He speaks English, Greek and French.
Dr. Persides served as president of the Hellenic Biocluster from 2010 to 2019.
