3 year old autistic artist speaks through his paintings

Vinnie Macris is a 3 years old painter who has been diagnosed with autism. He can only articulate a few words, but he can express himself through his painting, through his art, which is considered to be pure, lyric and spontaneous.

His mother Summa realized Vinnie’s talent when he was 14 months old. Nowadays, the family’s balcony at their apartment in Brisbane has been transformed in his atelier.

Vinnie was diagnosed with high functioning autism. His mother uploaded his artwork in social media and made quite an impact. People became very interested in his work.

Last April about 30 paintings were presented in his first solo exhibition at C Gallery at Brisbane. The works sold for about $12,000 in total, with 10 per cent of the profits donated to the AEIOU Foundation by Vinnie’s parents.
