The Greek Chairman of Sydney Roosters

Nick Politis ranks 5th in the list of Australia’s Wealthiest Greeks, with a fortune estimated at $360 billion.

Politis is a businessman and chairman of Sydney-based team Sydney Roosters. He’s a man of great influence and great experience in the country’s rugby football and his name is literally connected with the name of the team.

His father worked as a veterinarian in Greece and made the decision to immigrate to Australia.

Since March 1974, Politis has been managing and further expanding WFM Motors Pty Ltd, rebranding it later to City Ford. Actually, he transformed the company into one of the largest Ford dealerships in Australia.

City Ford has been sponsoring Sydney Roosters since 1976 and Politis himself was named Chairman of the team’s Board of Directors in 1993. In 2002, Sydney Roosters won the NRL Grand Final and Nick Politis later joined the team’s players in getting a premiership logo tattooed on their arms.
