He began to gather postal stamps, envelopes, postcards and stamps, since 1930, when he was still a student. Although during the war he was afflicted with rough arrest and deportation to concentration camps, Roditis (from the island of Rhodes) G. Zisimatos continued to enrich his collection, which includes rare pieces that reflect the history of the Dodecanese islands and Greece in general. He has received over twenty gold awards at competitions worldwide, and he continues with the same passion and love to collect small pieces of history. In his 90s, he is happy, because he dealt with something that he loved and he was honored for this, both from the Greek and from the international philately.
