The Greek origin famous wedding photographer

The Greek Armenian  Yervant Zanazanian, better known worldwide by his first name Yervant, is one of the top five photographers in the world, in wedding and portrait photography and was found in Thessaloniki for a two-day seminar. He is a life member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP), honorary member of the British Master Photographers” Association and holds a series of awards of excellence.

«I grew up in a house in Ethiopia, where my father listened to Greek music all the time and so as not to be able to change the station, he had «nailed» with glue the needle to a station playing only Greek», he says in an interview Yervant in Athens News Agency, referring with pride to his Greek origin.

He is registered as the youngest photographer ever made into a member of the AIPP, the unparalleled contribution to the professional photography industry and the innovations imported in space. The largest in issue business photo magazine of Australia, »Capture», voted him as the best photographer in the country in wedding photography.

Living, after all, the last 35 years in Melbourne with a large Greek community, he never fails to go every Sunday morning, his children to a Greek coffee house «for cheese pie and yo-yos, as they call in Australia the Greek sweet kok».

Most of his customers are Greeks who choose him for their traditional weddings and Italians as well. He has, however, photographed, among others, the marriage of an Indian maharajah with a Swiss girl who, although they were living in New York, chose to marry in India.

His dream is to put the wedding photography in galleries as art work in order to address the public but the greatest accomplishment for him remains the lap of the bride, after seeing the result of his work. The Greek Armenian father of Yervant was born in Paleo Faliro and was for years the personal photographer of former Emperor Haile Selasie and the royal family.
