Born in Ohio in the United States, Melina Kanakaredes made her first appearance in the theatrical plank at the age of eight. Now regarded as one of the most famous television actors across the Atlantic, while the TV series that catapulted its popularity, was the role of Stella Vonasera series in “CSI New York «, which was nominated for an Emmy Award.

Another important moment in the course of her carreer was the appearance in the film «15 minutes» alongside Robert De Niro. Melina Kanakaredes is proud of her Greek origin, but in her mind it is clear that she is Greek-American. She has two daughters, which tries to pass along the Greek culture, therefore visiting Greece at least once a year.

A very important role in this played her husband, the also Greek-American Pantelis Konstantinidis. Her dream and the hidden desire is to eventually be given the opportunity to see the Irodeion theatre. She still remembers the first time when she watched  a play there, shecould not hold back her tears of emotion.
