Played the daughter of Nia Vardalos in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2”

Elena Kampouris is an actress. She has a supporting role in the romantic comedy film My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, playing the daughter of Nia Vardalos and John Corbett’s characters. The film, directed by Kirk Jones, was released on March 25, 2016 by Universal Pictures.

Kampouris was born in New York City, to a Greek father who is a wine store owner and a French-American mother, an artist. Kampouris was drawn to acting because of her parents, who encouraged her and her brother to be creative. Her biggest inspiration is her mother, who grew up in a small southern town and eventually moved to New York and worked in fashion illustration for Estée Lauder and Revlon.

“Nobody ever believes me when I say I’m Greek. I see my Kampouris family in the Portokalos family, 100 billion percent. They were on cloud 10 – they still are on cloud 10. They all invited themselves to the premiere — I walked my pappou down the carpet.”

Her paternal family comes from the sparsely populated island of Kassos.

In 2012, Kampouris made her acting debut with a small guest role in the series Gossip Girl.

In 2013, Kampouris made her film debut with the comedy television film Jinxed. She also starred in the drama Labor Day, in which she played Young Rachel McCann opposite Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin in the lead.

In 2014, Kampouris played Allison Doss in the comedy-drama Men, Women & Children along with Rosemarie DeWitt, Jennifer Garner, Judy Greer, Dean Norris, and Adam Sandler.

Later, she played Alexia in the comedy-drama The Cobbler along with Adam Sandler, Dan Stevens, Dustin Hoffman and Steve Buscemi.

In 2015, Kampouris starred in the NBC’s thriller series American Odyssey, in which she played Maya Decker, daughter of Peter Facinelli’s character Peter Decker, a former U.S. Attorney.

Kampouris has also filmed a supporting role of Juliet Sykes in the comedy-drama film Before I Fall along with Zoey Deutch, Halston Sage, and Logan Miller, and Ry Russo-Young directed the film.
