Anthony “Tony” Leondis, also known as Tony Leondis is a film director, writer and voice actor of famous animations produced by Walt Disney Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures.

Tony Leondis was born on 24 March 1972. He holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and a master’s degree in theology from Holy Cross University.

Leondis started his career as a story artist working on films such as “The Prince of Egypt”, “Home on the Range” and “The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride” where he worked as an additional character designer.

Leondis has also worked as an additional storyboard artist for the animation film “The Road to El Dorado” produced by DreamWorks Animation

He later joined DisneyToon Studios, where he co-wrote the script for “The Emperor’s New Groove: Kronk’s New Groove”.

In 2005, Leondis made his directorial debut on “Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch”.

Three years later, in 2008, he directed his first theatrical animated film, “Igor”, for Exodus Film Group.

Since 2009, he was directing at DreamWorks Animation an animated feature film about ghosts, titled “B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations”. The film is based on an original idea by Tony Leondis, who is also directing. The film was scheduled to be released in 2015, but by late 2014, it was pulled from DWA’s schedule and went back into restructuring.

Leondis was the director at the animation film “Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Masters” produced by DreamWorks Animation. He was also among film’s voice cast as he was the voice of Young Croc.

In July 2015, it was reported that Leondis sold to Sony Pictures Animation a pitch for an animated film about “Emoji”. Leondis, will co-wrote the film with Eric Siegel, and will also direct it.

Tony Leondis won an Annie Award in 2005 for Best Home Entertainment Production for DisneyToon Studios’ “Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch”and received an Annie nomination for Best Writing in an Animated Feature Production for DisneyToon Studios’ The Emperor’s New Groove: Kronk’s New Groove”.

Leondis’ other credits include story artist on Disney’s “Home on the Range” and DreamWorks’ “The Prince of Egypt”.
