Forbes, which has been researching the world’s billionaires since 1987 and publishes its list every year, has published this year’s list, which includes Greek businessmen.
The first time Forbes did a survey, it found 140 billionaires. After 20 years, the number has exceeded 1,000. In 2017 they reached 2,000. Today, eight years later, the list of billionaires includes 3,028 entrepreneurs, investors and heirs.
Forbes’ 2025 list brings to light the richest Greeks, confirming their enduring influence on the global economy. Shipowners, entrepreneurs and investors with huge fortunes continue to lead the way, with names such as Marianna Latsis and Vangelis Marinakis standing out.

The richest
The richest man in the world is Elon Musk with a fortune of $342 billion. Musk is the co-founder of seven companies, including electric car maker Tesla, space rocket company SpaceX and artificial intelligence start-up xAI.
He is followed by Mark Zuberger with 216 billion. He is the founder of Facebook. He created it at the age of 19, in 2004, so that students could match names with photos of classmates and be able to find each other again, years later.
Jeff Bezos comes in third with $215 billion. Jeff Bezos founded e-commerce giant Amazon in 1994, working out of the garage of his Seattle home.
