Champion of apnea

Jenna Apokotos is the Greek champion of apnea as she holds the national record of Free Immersion apnea (FIM) and of Constant Weight apnea (CWT).

Apokotos stood out with a FIM dive to 55 metres at the Russian National Open 2015 in Dahad, Egypt. FIM is a discipline in which the athlete uses the vertical guiderope to pull him or herself down to depth and back to the surface without using ballast or fins.

The Greek athlete won the national record as she dived to 62 metres (CWT) at the Spontaneous Blue Hole Competition 2015 also in Dahad, Egypt. CWT is when the athlete has to dive to the depth following a guide line that he or she is not allowed to actively use during the dive; only a single hold of the rope to stop the descent and start the ascent is allowed.

In 2014, at the 2 Open Freediving de Mouscron in Belgium, Apokotos swam 154 metres (DYN).

Before free diving, Apokotos used to work as an International Project Manager at Automatic Systems in Belgium. Prior to that, she was a Packaging Project Manager and Project Manager for Moët & Chandon in France. She also worked as a Market Supply Planner for MHCS in France, as Junior Marketing Researcher for Richemont in Paris and at General Electric’s  project management office.

Apokotos studied General engineering at EIGSI in France, Industrial Management, Marketing, Sales, Finance at Ecole Supérieur de Commerce in France and she got her MBA at Luxury Brand Marketing and International Management from ISML.
