John J. Louizos was born on April 7, 1972 in Athens, Greece and immigrated to the United States with his parents at the age of three. He grew up in Stamford where his father worked as an auto mechanic and was the first one in his family who go to college. He received a Bachelors of Arts degree from University of New Hampshire in 1994 and his Juris Doctor from Washington & Lee University in 1997.
John J. Louizos started as a law clerk for the Supreme Court of Virginia Office of the Chief Staff Attorney from 1997 until 1999. In 1997, he published “Que, Ya No Hablan Ingles En Este Pais?: A Look at the Constitutionality of English Only Provisions Under the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment”. He also published «Striking Out Performance Enhancing Drugs – Is the Law Doing Enough to Protect the National Pastime from Becoming the Great American Tragedy?» in February 2005.
He was a member (2006-2007) and the vice chairman (2008-2009) of the Stamford Board of Finance and now is a member of the Fairfield County Bar Association as well as a member of the Connecticut and Virginia Bar Associations. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 Louizos was selected as a Connecticut Rising Star from SuperLawyer Magazine, an honor reserved for lawyers who are either 40 years old or younger or that have been in practice for 10 years or less.
Now, Louizos is partner of Curtis, Brinckerhoff & Barrett, P.C. and his areas of practice include Appellate Practice, Commercial Law, Civil Litigation and Municipal Law.
