Bobby Vangelatos is one of the members of the New York Youth Basketball tournaments and coach of a basketball team.

Bobby Vangelatos was born in Astoria, New York, but both his parents are from the Greek island of Kefalonia.

From a very early age, he started playing at the youth basketball championships. He started playing from 13 years old until he reached 17. Once he stopped playing, he decided to contribute to the society by helping out at various sport programs.

From 2000 until 2005, he was the basketball coach of the Astoria Youth team. Then, the director, Nikos Kokkinakis asked him to have a role in the championship. He, and other members of the committee, are working as volunteers with no financial benefits.

Today, the championship is called Greek Orthodox Basketball League and there are more communities that are entering the league each year.
