Paul Mavromatis is a dancer and a writer and earned worldwide popularity by the nickname Pablito Greco. He has performed in Italy, the Balkans, Russia, Turkey, Great Britain and many more countries.
Mavromatis was born in September 1982 at Evosmos in Thessaloniki. As a teenager, he loved the arts and sports and had several triumphs in national level basketball. At the age of 14, he experienced the art of street dancing and 3 years later he became the youngest radio producer of his city.
In 2000, he entered Democritus University of Thrace in the Department of Physical Education & Sport Science. During his academic years, Paul was involved with the learning of Latin American and ballroom dances. After having participated in a tango dancing class, he realized that dance was his passion.
After thorough experimentation and research, Mavromatis introduced Tangorthopedics, a physical method of guiding the amateur up to professional dancer, focusing in preventing from unnecessary injuries. Mavromatis is also the author of several books on dancing, like Horografia, Tangoem, HAR, The Animals, Numbers and Tango Thessaloniki Trilogy.
He has also performed in various international dance festivals and is best known for his dance style. Moreover, Mavromatis is a director and producer of short films, like La Bruja. He has been honoured several times by the Embassy of the Republic of Argentina in Greece for his projects in promoting dance tourism and tango dance.
In 2012, he married his year-long spouse Vivian Konstantakos.
