Leads to the return of the Parthenon Marbles

This is the woman with perhaps the largest experience in the matter of reclaiming the Parthenon Marbles from the British Museum – and undoubtedly the soul of the ongoing campaign in London. Eleni Cubitt, is for 23 years old secretary of the British Committee for the Reunification of the Parthenon Marbles, a Greek wife of the late leader of the campaign, prominent British architect James Cubitt.

In an interview granted to kathimerini.gr concerning the change of data due to the   launch of the New Acropolis Museum, pointed out among other things that “for years the British Museum claimed – and even told Melina – but you do not have any place where to put them”. Well, now we have something much better than that offered by the British Museum, which has placed them wrong to have joined all together but normally they are not united. There is no subject anymore. Anyone who has seen the New Museum acknowledges that it is truly a masterpiece and that it was built just for all the sculptures from all over the Acropolis”.

She had stated in that interview that «we must convince the director of the British Museum and the members of the Board of the museum that is in the interest of the museum to return. That is that, if the Director of the British Museum would get tomorrow up and says “we have decided to reunite them and the only place to do this is the new amazing museum”, the world would applaud
