World’s Media in love with his digital mosaics

Charis Tsevis is an internationally award winning visual designer. He’s based in Athens and works for major international brands, like Nike, Toyota, IKEA, PepsiCo and for international magazines and newspapers, like Fortune, Los Angeles Times, Sunday Times, Wired, Panorama, Epoca, MacFan, RAM and many more.

His idea to create intricate mosaics out of hundreds of Apple gadgets photos portraying the face of Steve Jobs boosted his career. Late one Saturday evening, Haris started his computer and logged on his flickr account to soon realize that his mosaic portrait of Steve Jobs had thousands visitors in two hours time and was already shared in a vast number of blogs, sites and other web groups.

Haris grabbed the chance of his sudden popularity and based on an ancient Greek concept, he says. “Traditionally, we Greeks were a naval population and we successfully used shipping to carry merchant goods. In that sense, using a virtual ship to share your work worldwide, like the web communities or social media, is possibly the smartest way to spread your work.”
