Stratton Sclavos is a partner at the venture capital firm Radar Partners. From July 1995 to May 2007, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of VeriSign, Inc., a top provider of infrastructure services to websites, enterprises, electronic service providers and individuals.

Sclavos was born in 1961 in California to Greek parents. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Davis.

In 1999, Stratton and his wife formed the Sclavos Family Foundation to support charitable efforts in children’s education and medical research.

He has worked with several Silicon Valley technology companies. From 1994 to 1995, he served as Vice President of worldwide marketing and sales for Taligent Inc., a joint venture of Apple, IBM and Hewlett Packard. He also served as Vice President of worldwide sales and business development for GO Corporation. Prior to that time, he spent five years at MIPS Computer Systems in various executive positions and as a member of the company’s senior management team.

In 1998, he was recognized by the Silicon Valley Business Journal as the Entrepreneur of the Year in the emerging companies category and he was later honoured with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Northern California in 2002. In 2001, he was the recipient of the 2001 Morgan Stanley Leadership Award for global commerce and was named to Forbes” Top 50 CEOs list following his ranking in the 2012 Wealthiest Greeks in America list, with worth $225 million.
